*2017 Pinot Noir Carneros

Tasting Notes
ZD recommends using an ah-so wine opener on library wines. Be sure to add one to your cart if you don't already own one!
An overall excellent growing season, 2017 was marked by a wet winter followed by a mild spring and a warm summer. The clusters were tight and full of beautiful, concentrated flavor. The 2017 Carneros Pinot Noir wonderfully showcases what this prominent region has to offer.
Hand harvested in mid-September, the certified organic grapes are from the Napa Carneros region, including our own ZD Wines Carneros Estate. The fruit was fermented in small, open-top stainless-steel tanks, and received hand punchdowns every 6 hours to gently extract color and tannin. Aging for 10 months in 100% French Oak added velvety structure that is smooth from the beginning to the lingering finish.
Greeted with a rich ruby color, the Pinot Noir has classic aromas of briary black cherry mingling with raspberry and strawberry, giving way to a luscious, silky palate with bright fruit and cedar notes. Well balanced with soft acidity and tannins.
