The 2022 growing season was unique, providing us with both heat waves and ample rain. Our Cabernet Sauvignon showed amazing resilience, allowing us to hang the fruit until mid-October, resulting in great concentration of flavors and beautiful balance.

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was produced with our finest organically farmed vineyard lots in Napa Valley. It is an exceptional example of ZD’s long-held belief in the art of blending, and how different sites can produce a wine that exceeds its individual parts. Each vineyard lot was fermented and barrel aged separately for one year before blending and then aged for an additional two years in neutral American Oak barrels.

The 2022 Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a deep, dark purple hue and complex aromas. Notes of jammy black cherry, currants, figs, and plum mingle with savory mulling spices, chocolate, and leather. On the palate, the wine exhibits remarkable depth and structure with a lush richness. The bright fruit and soft tannins are perfectly balanced, creating an elegant wine that is showing wonderfully now but will also age beautifully with cellaring.
