Award Winning
2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Tasting Notes
Early rains and a long, moderate, dry growing season with very few heat spikes allowed for optimal ripening conditions for our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in 2019. The grape sugars came up slowly and flavors developed beautifully. Noted overall as an “uneventful” harvest by our winemaking team, which always makes for the best wine quality!
Each vineyard lot was hand harvested and fermented separately in small stainless steel open-top fermenters. Hand punch downs during fermentation ensured a gentle extraction of color and tannin. The wines were then barrel aged for one-year American Oak barrels, after which our first blending trial tastings occurred. After final blending, the wine was returned to barrel and aged for an additional year before bottling.
With a beautiful deep ruby color, intense aromas of candied strawberry and ripe raspberry complement subtle notes of cocoa, flint, and violet. Bright, soft, and balanced on the palette, flavors of cherry pie, chocolate, and tobacco lead into a long finish. Drinking wonderfully now, we expect the wine to develop gracefully for years to come.
