ZD recommends using an ah-so wine opener on library wines. Be sure to add one to your cart if you don't already own one!
The 2005 vintage of ZD’s Library Selection Cabernet Sauvignon has aged gracefully and is showing great depth of fruit and complexity. This wine is a 100% varietal and from a blend of premier vineyards in Napa Valley creating a well-balanced wine that continues to age wonderfully in the bottle. The color is clear and bright, with dark garnet hues and a touch of a ruby edge. The aromas are intense and plentiful. Black raspberries, fig preserves, dark plum, with hints of cedar, cocoa, baking spice, and violets that all mingle nicely with a toasty vanilla oak background. Many of the aromas follow through to the palate and reward you with flavors of dried fruits intermixed with blackberry notes. The acidity in this aged wine is impressive, backed by refined tannins that lead to an integrated and lingering finish. The 2005 Cabernet is the epitome of finesse.
