The early bud break of 1996 was the beginning of a low yield year in Napa Valley. Spring rains reduced an already short crop, hindering pollination and diminishing fruit set. However, this light crop easily ripened to achieve full maturity and plenty of character. Our wine shows the intensity of a short crop packed with rich full flavors of berry and cherry, and the complexity of vanilla oak. A beautiful soft supple balance finishes to a lasting aftertaste.
