Harvest Wrap-Up

Straight from the winemakers mouth!

We asked Chris Pisani, ZD’s winemaker, a few questions about the 2007 Harvest.

ZD: Describe the 2007 harvest in 3 words.

Chris: Patience! Patience! ... Rewarding!!!

ZD: Overall, how were the growing conditions for this year’s harvest?

Chris: Moderate growing season, with some early heat that tested your patience (see above) followed by a cooler period which really let the flavors and sugars develop, and lastly a light, late season irrigation!

First Day of Harvest

ZD: What varietals were Rosa Lee’s “Whim” this harvest?

Chris:
A gewürztraminer from the Spring Hill Vineyard in the Russian River Appellation.

A Petite Sirah from the Jonquil (dandelion in French) in Pope Valley.
Look for these wines in 2008.
