Brett deLeuze
Brett deLeuze, ZD Wines President was the ripe old age of four when ZD was founded. Having grown up in the wine business, he knows ZD Wines from beginning to end. Working with his father and brother in the cellars in the late 70’s and early 80’s set the stage for Brett's knowledge of the family’s grape growing and winemaking.
Until 1986, Brett's main interest outside of the winery had been soccer. He collected trophies attesting to his skill, and continued playing through his college years. But with graduation in view, his attention was focused on obtaining a business degree from California State University at Sacramento. Following graduation from CSUS in 1988, he formed a team with his mom, Rosa Lee, who had been managing ZD's marketing and sales.
Over the years, Brett has visited wineries and vineyards in France, Italy and Germany, learning more about the diversity and excitement that is part of the wine business. In 1992, Brett married his wife Natalie, who frequently travels with him and has her masters degree in Physical Therapy from UCSF. Brett and Natalie are also the proud parents of three young children, Connor who is now fourteen, Kayla who turned eleven last December, and their youngest, Alexandria, who is eight.
