| ZD Wines Has Deep Roots in Los Carneros |
|
New Release:

The 2010 growing season was long and cool. It began with an unusually wet spring, which led to a late bud break, and finished with a perfectly timed heat spike in the last week of September. Gentle winemaking practices in the cellar including hand punch-downs during fermentation, complement the hard work done in the vineyard. Aged 15 months in French Oak barrels, this wine has just the right amount of vanilla, toast and cedar from the oak cooperage. It is tasting beautifully now with a dark ruby color and aromas of black cherry, cola, and rhubarb pie. Rich and round on the palate, the 2010 Founder’s Reserve Pinot Noir is packed with flavor and the acid balance ensures it will age gracefully for many years.

| New state-of-the-art farm building and historic house renovations reinvigorate ZD’s Carneros Estate |
The rolling hills of the Carneros winegrowing region is where ZD founder, Norman deLeuze began the endeavor to craft and produce world class wines. ZD Wines’ 1969 Pinot Noir was the first wine to recognize Carneros on its label, well before the area was recognized as an appellation in 1983. For many years, the deLeuze family worked closely with established growers in the region farming Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and in 1996 they firmly set down roots by purchasing a 33-acre vineyard parcel on the Carneros Highway.

Employee Profile: The Quintessential Host
You never know where life’s roads will take you. There may be short detours, bumpy dirt roads and sometimes long stretches of smooth highway. For ZD Wines’ Assistant Tasting Room Manager, Emily Floyd, the road signs pointed her down the Silverado Trail toward a fulfilling career in the wine business.
Emily began working part-time at ZD in 2008 while she was earning her degree in Business Administration and Human Resources at Sonoma State University. Now five years later she has worked her way up to Assistant Tasting Room Manager.

Note from the deLeuze family
With more than 40 years of history working to produce world class wines as a small family owned and operated business, we are privileged and proud to have three generations of our family working together.
We feel very fortunate to have successfully operated our winery for more than 40 years and we feel a strong connection to the community of Napa where we live and work. We try to give back where we can, and we have a strong commitment to the Boys and Girls Club of Napa’s Teen Center. Our entire staff continues to participate in bringing healthy snacks for the week to the teen center and our third annual Summer Wine Celebration held August 11, raising helpful funds to support this very important and often under supported group.
