“With intense aromas of cassis, blackberry and plum and a dense concentrated palate this 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet is simply delicious! The grapes for this Cabernet were sourced from several small Napa Valley vineyards, each with its own unique “terroir”. Each lot was harvested separately and fermented in small stainless steel open top fermentors. Hand punchdowns every eight hours ensure an efficient, gentle extraction of color and tannin. Aged for two years in small American Oak barrels, this wine is drinking great right now and will, as all ZD Cabernets do, age gracefully for many years to come. We hope you enjoy!”

The 2008 vintage marked an important milestone for ZD Wines; 40 years of producing world class wines of quality and distinction, and a commitment by the deLeuze family to continue this tradition of excellence with three generations working together to elevate the “Zero Defects” name. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of our best Napa Valley lots, and is an excellent example of ZD’s belief in the art of blending, and how different sites can produce a wine that exceeds its individual parts. With ZD’s own organically farmed Rutherford Estate as the backbone, this wine is showing wonderfully now. Aromas of cassis, black cherry and plum intermingle with subtle hints of clove, anise, tobacco and sweet toasty vanilla. The palate is loaded with fruit and lush, well balanced tannins that carry the wine through to an incredibly long finish. The oak is present but well integrated and gives the wine an added layer of complexity. Less than 800 cases of this wine were produced. Enjoy!
